Experience the magic of Iceland over a long weekend! This epic adventure takes you on a tour of Reykjavik, immerses you in the wonders of the Golden Circle, and even includes a soothing and rejuvenating spa day. Explore natural wonders, mesmerizing waterfalls, and a ton of history, all capped off with a relaxing soak in Iceland's famous geothermal waters.

Day 1: Arrive - Tour Reykjavik

  • You arrive eager and amazed at the bright and airy Keflavik Airport. In awe of the sleek minimalist design, you take a moment to gaze out on views of the surrounding volcanic terrain and ocean.

  • A short shuttle ride to the car rental offices and you collect your ride for the next few days - fit with winter tyres, heated seats and steering wheel! Around an hours drive from the airport, you hit downtown Reykjavik.

  • Start your day by exploring the charming capital city of Iceland. Via the main high street, awash with independent cafes, bars and coffee shops, you’ll find the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church at the top of the hill. Harpa Concert Hall, and the Sun Voyager sculpture round out the three central Instagram hotspots!

  • Quaint shops and restaurants can be found by taking a stroll through the Old Harbour area before discovering true Icelandic culture at museums like the National Museum of Iceland or the Saga Museum.

  • End your day with dinner at one of Reykjavik's excellent restaurants, offering fresh and delicious Icelandic cuisine.

Day 2: Golden Circle (Tour or Self Drive)

  • You can either join a guided tour or (if you followed day 1 you’ll have a…) rental car for a self-drive adventure. Guided tours typically set off around 8 am with multiple pick-ups in Reykjavik. Our preference is to hire a car for the ultimate freedom and flexibility.

  • Rise early and grab coffee and pastry from Sandholt, Te & Kaffe or Reykjavik Roasters then begin your journey on the Golden Circle, a route covering some of Iceland's most stunning natural attractions.

  • 45 mins northeast of Reykjavik your first stop should be Þingvellir National Park, where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. You could spend a day here, and we’d recommend it if you’ve got the time, if not - max. 2 hours along the shorter trails should be just right.

  • A further 35 minutes down the road, the next stop is the Geysir Geothermal Area to witness the famous Strokkur geyser erupting, we’d recommend timing this stop with lunch, there are multiple dining options at the Geysir visitors centre and we’d recommend any of the local soup/broths.

  • Only a short drive away, your Golden Circle tour is rounded out with a visit to Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most iconic waterfalls.

Day 3: Spa Day

  • Treat yourself to a relaxing spa day at one of Iceland's world-renowned geothermal spas.

  • Visit the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava fields. Relax in the milky blue waters and indulge in spa treatments like silica mud masks.

  • Alternatively, you can explore other geothermal spas like the Secret Lagoon or Fontana Geothermal Baths for a more serene experience. Check out our guide to the best spas in Iceland

  • After your spa day, enjoy a leisurely evening in Reykjavik, with a few drinks and dining at a restaurant with views of the city's skyline.

  • For those less inclined to chill in the spa - check out the epic Reykjavik Whale Watching Tour available from get your guide!

Day 4: Reykjavik - Depart

  • On your last day, take some time to explore any remaining sights in Reykjavik or pick up last-minute souvenirs.

  • Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for a final meal at one of Reykjavik's cafes or restaurants (try Mat Bar), or for something lighter checkout Sandholt.

  • Transfer to Keflavik International Airport for your departure, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences you've had during your time in Iceland.
